#11 has been sold
This is mandolin #12 and was finished in 2015. I have played it for the last few months so it has a few small scratches but nothing major.
Mandolin # 12 in my opinion is a really special mandolin. It has an Engelmann Spruce top and one-piece Red Maple Back. The top is transparent black with the rest of the mandolin being a traditional sunburst and has an oil varnish finish. The Headstock, fretboard, pickguard and tail piece cover are all made out of a beautiful wood called Ziricote which is a very dense hardwood similar to ebony so it works great for fret boards. The neck has a traditional adjustable truss rod. The fretboard is radiused and I installed larger fretwire. The sound is deep, warm and complex with a beautiful tone that would work for any style of music. . ..at the same time it is really loud with a strong chop and can handle any banjo with no problem.
